I Found the Best Ice Cream Ever!
For those that know Dan and I well, you know that we absolutely LOVE ice cream. Even at our rehearsal dinner for our wedding we had a sundae bar. So, on to the best. For those of you that don’t know, I’m in Minnesota visiting friends for a few days. And last night I was introduced to Cold Stone.
At Cold Stone you pick an ice cream flavor, sauces, and mix-ins and they put it all together right there with spatulas and you guessed it, a cold stone. For those less creative customers they have a list of their “Originals.” I went with the Peanut Butter Cup Perfection- it has chocolate ice cream, creamy peanut butter, fudge, and peanut butter cups. It was so good, but the portion was so big I only ate 1/3 of it because I was still full from dinner. I think that I will have to go back and get Chocolate Devotion- that looked good.

I've yet to visit Coldstone, but have you ever heard of "Big Olaf"? Down San Diego way, some years ago, all these 'Big Olaf' places popped up (like todays Starbucks) including street vendors. Their specialty: Monster-freshly-sizzled-waffle-cones, filled with whatever ice cream you picked, scoop by scoop. Pistachio, double-fudge-chocolate, pecan swirl.... And after every third scoop, you were asked what layer of sprinkles, syrups, fruits would you like as a seperator. MARHMELLOW!!!!!
All said and done, the finalized Big O' handed to you contained nine scoops of varying flavors, two layers of sticky-gooey-cruchy Nirvana-inspiring happiness. The darn thing weighed almost two pounds! And if and when you sucessfully consumed that monster cone, and if you didn't just curl up into the fetal position and severly twitch for the the next 48 hours, a feeling of awe flowed from your taste buds, down to your bloated belly, back up into your memory bank, saying: Dammit! So that's what decadence is like... Maybe one more, except this time with Caramel and Cherries.....
Yummy, BG
