Hello Dan, my name is Marian MacNair and I am a researcher for a Discovery television show about mysteries. We've heard that people sometimes hear music from Gardner Lake because there is a sunken house with a piano in it in the lake. Are you from the area? Have you ever heard about this? Can you put me in touch with someone who might know about the history of the region?
Thanks for your help

I HAVE A CABIN ON GARDNER LAKE AND DURING THE WINTER OF 1900 THE HOUSE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING MOVED ACROSS. DURING THE NIGHT THE ICE GOT SOFT AND THE HOUSE BEGAN TO SINK A BIT. IT WAS PAST THE POINT WHERE THEY COULD PULL IT OUT SO DOWN IT WENT. THERE ARE POSTCARDS AND PAINTINGS YOU CAN GET ONLINE FROMM TIME TO TIME. ONCE IN AWILE DIVERS GO DOWN AND RETRIEVE PARTS OF THE HOUSE.
Hey Frank, (or to whom it may concern, :>
Where is the underwater house located? What part of the lake? I would like to row my boat over it, and see if it shows on my depth finder...interesting!
I used to camp at http://www.pequotledge.com/ many many moons ago and I learned about the cabin mishap too. I was told it was located right across from Pequot Legde camp ground where there is a little island.
i camp on gardener lake with my family...the house is right near the small island and people dive down there sometimes to see the house, i have heard and read it is haunted but never had any encounters or seen the house
my whole family use to live on the boy scout land wewas a caretake forcamp waken unit they sold the land. i have the book on it the infrom in the house let me know if what the infrom on the house. it is very inters to know what happer to the the stuff that is in the house if thge pino real play at nite. you will find out when you get the infrom from me. thanx Bonnie
I have been a recreational user of the lake for many years, and have heard the stories of the house from many anglers and area residents. My understanding is that, when the home fell through the ice, it became lodged in an underground mountain spring, which feeds Gardner with clean groundwater (a reason why it it so clear). Subsequently, the owners were not able to retrieve the house. I believe the head of the marina near the dam area would have a more accurate story. - GG
I too have heard of the "lady" who taps the keys from the underground mountain spring in the depths of Gardner Lake. I have spent many of night nestled between the hemlocks on Minnie Island hoping to hear her sweet tune, but unfortunately have not been privy. I would like to investigate this more. I have even thought of asking the folks from Ghost Hunters to do a special on this much hidden secret. What do others think?
any gps coordinates? I plan on going tomorrow to try my "SI" sonar unit!!
You posted your question so long ago, i don't know if you are even checking anymore, but... i grew up on Gardner Lake and now own property here. I am writing a children's mystery story/series about the "legend of Gardners Lake" so I am interested in your findings as well. I would love to chat about what you have discovered. On a seperate note... my Dad has scuba dived to the location of the house. I have a photo of it (from a magazine), and I have spent MANY hours outside at night observing the lake. Contact me if you would like to talk more.... Sincerely, Jenn
You will certainly like this unique keyword research program i did start to benefit from this morning. I must say, this product extremely changed my method of looking of tiny niche markets. http://tinyurl.com/335dgsf
