Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Review

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is definitely a Tim Burton film, and that's a good thing in my opinion. Willy Wonka is basically a kid who never grew up--he likes childish things and doesn't understand adults. And his excitement is played perfectly by Johnny Depp. Like in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie is the "pure" kid--but in this movie he's also the moral center, which is kind of a neat twist I think.

In the previews and trailers I noticed that Willy Wonka looks a bit "goth" with the brown suit and dark/pale skin. Mid-way through the movie it occurred to me that his look isn't "goth," it's chocolate!
