Chairs at the Hancock Shaker Village
Chairs at the Hancock Shaker Village
Most of my photos are very literal interpretations of what I see. I don’t often photograph abstract characteristics (such as shape, form, or balance) as "stand alone" photos.
While we were visiting the Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, Massacussets, we went into the Brick Dwelling. A dining room showed the chairs stacked against the wall and hung from the wall, and this position of four chairs (and in particular the chair backs) leapt out at me as a great composition. I thought about bumping the chairs to more properly align the two on the right, but I also liked that it wasn’t quite perfect.
