Night sky

The full moon casts a lot of light. It coats the ground and sky, and is actually plenty of light to be active outside. If you live in a dark area, you’ve no doubt noticed the big difference between full moon and cloudy nights!

In this photo of leafless trees, the photo is exposed just as metered. It’s a little hard to tell at smaller sizes, but the tree is not silhouetted — you can tell that the moon is on the left outside fo the frame because of the tree detail. Of course, it is dark and so this is a fairly long exposure (20 seconds at f8, ISO 1600).
