Our view from the Mammoth Hotel

Our room in the Mammoth Hotel was on the fourth floor and overlooked the "town" green. At the left are streetlights and some of the old Army-built buildings (barracks and officer’s homes) from when the park was first formed. When we visited Yellowstone in 2005, we saw a handful of Elk in the middle area; we didn’t see any there this time. The nights we spent in Yellowstone were also cloudy, so I didn’t get a chance to try any astrophotography there.
