Crystal Lake in Ellington, CT

Crystal Lake in Ellington is a good sized pond lined mostly with houses and little undeveloped area. The lake is open to power boats and as the day wore on a few water skiers came on the water — which obviously creates a good bit of wake for paddlers. It also held several surprises when I paddled it: a scuba diver, a bald eagle, and some unique buoys. It was also pretty quiet, given that there were power boats on the water.
