Attracting Birds

I hung our bird feeders in the back yard of our new house, hoping to attract some birds. In a few days I saw a variety show up, including the tufted titmouse and male american goldfinch seen here. Also seen: chickadees, sparrows, downy and/or hairy woodpeckers, and nuthatches.

I set the feeders on the far side of the upper yard, which is about 30 feet away. from the house. That’s not too far, unless you’re trying to get photos! I may try to move them closer, and even thought about hanging one on the porch.
