Reaching for Food

On Saturday at Roger Williams Park Zoo we watched the elephants for a while. It was feeding time, and this one stretched it’s trunk high to reach for the hay. It has to pull the hay through the netting, and has to put forth some effort to do that! It was interesting to watch how the elephant’s trunk moved and how it wrestled the hay out of the bag.
