A Bear Affair

Last fall in Litchfield County there was an art exhibition called A Bear Affair. In the spirit of the Cow Parade (which we visited in West Hartford several years ago), local artists took a bear statue and painted it, usually within a theme. Various businesses throughout the county sponsored the bears and they were placed on their property. Visitors could get a map to try to locate all of them, as well as participate in a contest. You had to find every bear and list its title and artist on an entry form. We spent a day "going on a bear hunt" mostly just in the city of Torrington, though every fiber of my compulsive being wanted to go searching for every single last one. Oh well, maybe next year.
