New Year’s Resolutions
I’m hoping that if I write my new year’s resolutions here in public view I’ll be able to hold myself a little more accountable. I only picked two things, and I think they’re relatively small, so they should be totally manageable, right?
I want to read more books. I read computer- and programming-related books pretty regularly, but I’d like to expand that to include some more subjects. I’d like to read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn again, mostly. Sherree enjoyed Angels & Demons and suggested I read that.
I want to get in better shape. This summer I’ll be padding the Allagash Wilderness Waterway with Scouts again, and I want to be able to enjoy that as much as possible — so that means I need to have the strength and endurance to paddle the week, lug stuff up and down to campsites, and go through the 1/4-mile portage. Similarly, I’d like to kayak a lot this year so I need to get in good shape to enjoy that more, too. And if I lose some weight along the way, too, that’s great.

Hi Dan:
I hope you pick up "Your Maine Lands" by Tom Hanrahan, and maybe watch "Northrunner," about AWW, both of them put out by the Maine Department of Conservation. Yes, this is a plug, but they really are good. And if you need any free maps, let me know!
I reccomend 'Confessions of a Shopaholic.' It the only fiction book series that I've ever read and loved. hehehe...maybe you would like it...you never know ;)
Lisa and I are hoping to do a little kayaking this Spring. Maybe if we find the time and place for it locally, we can all go out paddlin'
