K2BSA at the National Jamboree

Categories:

My Dad will be leaving for the National Jamboree in a few days to get everything setup at the Radio merit badge and K2BSA amateur radio station.

My small contribution was designing the K2BSA QSL card. (A QSL card is sort of a sourvenir confirming a contact.) On the back of the card is some text about the Jamboree and amateur radio:

The 16th National Jamboree was attended by 40,000 Scouts and adult Scouters from around the world. K2BSA's Radio Scouting Staff emphasized getting Scouts on the air and showing off Amateur Radio to the Scouts and visiting public. We taught Radio Merit Badge classes and Technician License classes and gave license exams. More than two dozen manufacturers and organizations loaned and donated equipment, time and resources to the Jamboree K2BSA project. The Boy Scouts of America, ARRL and other groups share a common goal to bring more young people into ham radio. Thank you for helping us with that effort by contacting K2BSA at the National Jamboree! Art Steinke, WB9JKZ, designed the K2BSA Jamboree logo and Dan Wolfgang designed the QSL card.
