Also in October, I coordinated a Service Unit event at the Foster Farm Corn Maze in South Windsor, CT. We took the 4th and 5th graders during the day and the 6th graders at night. We all had a lot of fun! I highly recommend this corn maze in Connecticut because they offer a map. It's a great way to help the girls work on their map reading skills! They also had a hay ride during the day that the younger kids liked a lot.

In November we took a trip to the Thomaston Opera House to see Ragtime. It was a special trip arranged by the Service Unit for troops who had early bird registered. We had seen the last performance of the run and after the show a few actors and key people visited with the girls to answer questions regarding the show and theater in general.

Every year in early December we have a Service Unit Holiday Bingo. The girls each bring a new unwrapped toy that is donated to a local organization for the holidays. They also get to play Bingo for a few hours and win all kinds of nifty do-dads.
