2007: Our Year in Review
2007 absolutely flew by for us. Sherree doesn't have a lot to scrapbook for the past year--we didn't do much in the way of day trips or anything--but we've had a number of dramatic changes going on! We've always got Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities, Sherree had work and school, and Dan had work and work, to summarize.
In January, Sherree was a full-time student at Saint Joseph College in the Reach to Teach program. (Well, that's a little bit of a lie--she started going full-time in 2006, but she's still a full-time student.) In addition to working full-time, of course. She briefly wrote about this in Where has Sherree been?.
In February, Dan brought up the idea of starting a business doing web development with Movable Type. Who knows, it might be worthwhile.
In March we asked for help naming our new business. Later in the month we went to New York City: Dan for the Six Apart event [1, 2], and Sherree to sight-see.
April brought a new pet: a hamster named Goober. On April 12 at 8:30 am our business, uiNNOVATIONS, LLC, was officially formed.
May started with a Nintendo Wii [1, 2] and led into our vacation in the White Mountains of New Hampshire [1, 2, 3]. May 26 marks six years of marriage for us, too!
Apparently June was quite uneventful.
In July, we brought Mikey the Cat home.
In August, Pinball ran away, however we found her just a few days later. Big news: Jim got married!
In September I decided to build a ceramic smoker and volunteered to run the November campout for my Boy Scout Troop.
In October, Sherree noted how much weight Mikey has lost and I worked on planning a new kind of campout for November: the Skills Showdown [1, 2, 3, 4]!
November and the Skills Showdown [1, 2, 3, 4] came so fast! We did a podcast with some of my family about Thanksgiving memories.
And it's finally December and Christmas. I've posted a short podcast with my Mom about her Christmas memories, but we haven't posted any photos yet. We got to spend a few days with Jim and his wife Lisa, as well as see more of our families.
Unfortunately, this little review doesn't communicate just how ragged we were run. Sherree was writing paper after paper after paper. I've been busy with work for uiNNOVATIONS almost every single day. 2008 is going to be a big year for us, too, I feel it already!
